For homeowners & prosumers
Bring back the camera texts your carrier turned off
If your camera used to text you on motion and just… stopped, you’re not imagining it. The major carriers shut down email-to-text in 2025. NVRtxt turns it back on for your home system.
Know the moment it happens
A package at the front door, a car in the driveway, motion in the backyard — get a text the instant your camera detects it.
Works with the gear you have
Hikvision, Dahua, LTS, Uniview, Reolink, Lorex, Amcrest, ANNKE and more. If your recorder can email an alert, NVRtxt can text it.
No app to babysit
Skip the push notifications that need the app open and online. NVRtxt sends a plain text to your phone — and your family’s.
Everyone who should know, knows
Add a few phone numbers to a single endpoint so the whole household gets the alert, not just whoever has the app.
You’re in control
Set quiet hours with your recorder’s schedule so you’re not woken by every passing car, and reply STOP anytime to opt out.
Quick to set up
Follow your camera brand’s guide — it’s a few settings on the recorder plus your phone number. Most people are done in about ten minutes.
Compatibility
Works with the systems you already run
Hikvision and LTS get tuned parsing; Dahua, Uniview, Reolink, Lorex, Amcrest, ANNKE, Hanwha, Axis, Blue Iris and many more flow through the universal parser.
FAQ
Questions
- Do I need a special camera or a subscription to the camera maker?
- No. Any home NVR, DVR, or camera that can send email alerts works. You don’t need the manufacturer’s cloud plan — NVRtxt uses the recorder’s built-in email feature.
- Why did my camera texts stop in the first place?
- Carriers like Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile retired their free email-to-text gateways in 2025 to fight spam. Your camera still sends the email; there was just nothing turning it into a text — until now.
- Can my whole family get the alerts?
- Yes. Add each person’s phone number to the endpoint and everyone receives the text. Anyone can reply STOP to stop receiving them.
- Is it hard to set up?
- Not really. Pick your brand’s guide, enter a sending mailbox and your NVRtxt address in the recorder’s email settings, and add your phone number. It usually takes about ten minutes.
